Inventor is certainly not really too powerful for what you want but may have a lot of things you don't use/need (based on the limited information you provided). Inventor Pro just has basic linear FEA in it.Ĭan you model wiring harnesses in Inventor Pro?. (Desktop EDA IFD for Inventor and Altium, Mentor, Cadence, ORCAD, PADS, Protel, or Eagle)Ĭan you model cooling systems in Inventor. Nope not without another program and its supported PCB layout programs. Will that have traces and components that you can simply move in Inventor and have that update your PCB design. yes if you just want the shape/mounting holes/component models. Thats pretty generic IMO and more details would be needed about the specifics of that statement.Ĭan you model circuit boards with it. "design re and covers.externals and internals" And with a lot more money in other software I could do more. (Diptrace has newer functionality that I could use to almost import all that from the PCB package but I have not attempted that yet as what I do works fine). I do my PCB layouts/schematics in Diptrace and then fully model everything in Inventor down to the resistors, etc. Wiring/Circuit boards/Metallic chassis, etc. I use Inventor Professional for electro-mechanical design. If yes can people like me in this version of designers get some love and attention please? If yes where can I find resources to assist with learning how to.ģ. Can this Cad software be used to design re and covers.externals and internals?Ģ. I eagerly would love and appreciate a favorable reply.ġ. Is Autodesk inventor too powerful for this kind of design and I would be underutilizing the software? If it is ok to use where can I find tutorials to help with my understanding of the design process for these kind of designs? Computers, consoles, cooling systems for electronics etc. Makes me doubt if what I need the software for is too limited. Problem is I'm seeing an overload of tutorials for mechanical designs, which intimidates me. I'm still learning but I'm concerned because I see this as a perfect software solution for what I'm trying to invent or design. My name is Jerome and I'm a new autodesk inventor user.
